The Kenai Elks Lodge would like to thank all those who came out in support of KDLL Public Radio. This was our sixth annual Oktoberfest, and because of all the community support, it was a great success.
Once again Die Alaska Blaskapelle put on a wonderful show. This year, with 14 members, this tuba-heavy oompah-pah ensemble set a new performance record. Playing until nearly midnight. These dedicated musician’s entertained young and old alike with German toasts, waltzes, polkas and, of course, “The Chicken Dance.”
An Oktoberfest celebration would not be complete without beer. Steve and Karen at the Homer Brewing Company came through again with kegs of their finest ale and porter.
Special thanks goes to Adrian and Penny at Regal Foods for again making generous donation to the cause.
A big thanks to all the volunteers who helped set up, cook, serve food and then cleaned up. Without your hard work, this fundraiser would not have been possible.
Again, thank you to all who came out in support of the Kenai Elks and KDLL. I hope to see all of you at next year’s Oktoberfest.
