An 18-year-old man has inexplicably disappeared after he was last seen at 2 a.m. Saturday at a house party on Borealis Avenue in Kasilof.
Jared Richardson Struthers’ family waited to hear from him until 4:47 p.m. Tuesday when his father, Richard Struthers, called Alaska State Troopers.
“They’re concerned that he might have run outside and succumbed to the elements,” said Greg Wilkinson, troopers’ spokesperson. “They just don’t know where he is and it’s not like him, so they’re concerned.”
Troopers interviewed Jared’s friends and family Tuesday, but no one knew where he might be found. Friends who were at the party could not clearly remember the circumstances under which Jared left.
When by Wednesday morning troopers still had not found Jared, they launched an aerial search using trooper helicopter Helo-1 and a ground search team led by Sgt. Dan Donaldson.
Jared is Caucasian, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 135 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes and was last seen at the party wearing a red jacket and blue jeans.
Anyone with information on Jared’s whereabouts should call troopers at 262-4453.
