The Soldotna High School boys basketball team would like to thank its supporters, sponsors, parents and student-athletes for helping to make the 2007 PowerAde/Sohi Tip Off Tournament a huge success.

Thanks to the booster club parents that worked so hard to help make this tournament and accompanying hospitality room incredible. Super thanks to the wonderful Jeanna Carver, home economics teacher at Soldotna High School, for letting us have full access to her home economics rooms and donating and food, too!

Thank you to Gary Toombs of Odom Corporation and PowerAde for sponsoring the Tip Off. Thank you to the following community businesses that donated various products to support his endeavor: Kenai Safeway; Soldotna Safeway; Fred Meyer; Soldotna Wells Fargo; and Great Alaska Pizza Company.

Last but not at all least, thanks especially to all the participating high school athletes from Kenai, Skyview, Cook Inlet Academy, Sitka, Craig, Glennallen, Nikiski and SoHi who strive so diligently to keep their grades up and practice so intensely to play this game so well. The games were well played and the students all displayed remarkable camaraderie and sportsmanship.

I invite everyone in the community to take time to support and attend high school sports. The fee to attend is relatively small compared to entertainment received and all fees support the team needs. Keeping our kids engaged in healthy activities will continue to strengthen our community.
