Chrystal Rose Gomez of Kenai and Jeffrey Michael Van Sky of North Kenai were married Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in Maui, Hawaii, on a low bluff overlooking a sandy beach, volcanic reef and blue Pacific water. The ceremony was officiated by Sunny Kamiya.

The bride is the daughter of Armando Gomez of Mexico and Dollie Morey of Kenai. She received a two-year degree in 2001 and is pursuing a four-year degree in social work. She is an outreach specialist for the National Family Care-givers Support Program. She wore a white gown and flowered head lei and carried a pink and white bouquet.

The groom is the son of Larry Van Sky of Kenai and Kathy Lawyers of Maui. He graduated from Nikiski Middle-Senior High School in 1994. He is a member of the Alaska Laborers Local No. 341 and is a commercial fisher.

A reception was held Jan. 10 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge No. 3525 in Kenai.

The wedding was attended by the groom's grandfather, Wally Van Sky, and father, Larry, both of North Kenai, and the groom's mother, Kathy, and her husband, Jim Lawyer, of Maui.

The couple honeymooned in Maui. They plan to live in an A-frame log home home in North Kenai that the groom built.
