Elks table tennis results announced

Dan Mortenson and Wayne Brooks won the Soldotna Elks Lodge's doubles table tennis tournament Wednesday. Joe Szczesny and Gary Brumley placed second, and Skip Dove and Chuck Winters placed third.

The Soldotna Elks hold table tennis tournaments every Wednesday night beginning at 6:30. For more information, call Ray at 262-7415.

Kenai Historical Society elects new board members

The Kenai Historical Society recently elected new board members.

Joanna Hollier was elected president. She came to Kenai as an air traffic controller in 1946 and later was involved in helping establish the Methodist Church, as well as numerous community organizations. Emily DeForest will be the vice president; and Nancy Egbert, secretary-treasurer.

Other board members are Virginia Poore, George Ford and Carol Brenckle. Elsie Seaman is historian, and Mary Ford, newsletter editor.

Monthly meetings and programs are open to the public and held on the first Sunday of the month, September through May, or as announced.

Soldotna Historical Society plans meeting

The Soldotna Historical Society will hold its general membership meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road. Following the meeting, a presentation on the life of Andrew Berg" will be given by Gary Titus. A tour of the restored Andrew Berg cabin will be given at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge on Ski Hill Road. The public is invited to attend. Door prizes will be given to members attending.
