Kindergarten classes have been reading, counting, writing and discussing snow. The halls are filled with snowmen created with a variety of artistic techniques.
The first-graders in Ms. Ralston's room learned about a new art technique called pointillism. The students viewed some of Georges Seurat's pieces of art in which he used the technique. Seurat often took a year to complete a painting. Students also learned about warm and cool colors. In math and science the students took the information they learned about Seurat and applied it to their learning. The students studied time, how long a year is and experimented with mixing colors. They used the information to make their own art.
