Sterling Elementary

Posted: Wednesday, January 19, 2005

The school is continuing the fund-raising drive to collect jars of change to send financial support to the victims of the Asia tsunamis. This fund-raising effort was initiated by second-grader Micah Sterling. Later this spring, Sterling Elementary will host peninsula musician Mike Morgan as part of the Artist in Residence program sponsored by the Alaska Council on the Arts. Watch for more details in March.

Sterling Elementary was selected as a host site for an AmeriCorps BIRCH member and will begin a series of classes and activities at the school during afternoons and evenings intended to help support the health and wellness of residents in the Sterling community. A schedule of activities will be available in late February. Contact Chris Thorne or Christine Ermold for more information.
