The Kenai masters swim team swims from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Kenai Central High School pool. The group is open to swimmers over the age of 18. The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will hold their January meeting on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mykel's restaurant in Soldotna. The guest speaker will be Jerry Herring from Central Alaska Engineering Company. Alaska Department of Fish and Game has opened registration for the Becoming an Outdoors Woman Alaska winter workshop to be held March 11-13 near Chickaloon at Victory Bible Camp. Classes include fire arm safety, shotgun, archery, field dressing, bear safety, ice fishing, fly tying, fly fishing, pike palooza, dog mushing, cross country skiing, snow machining and GPS, as well as numerous other classes. The workshop is open to adults 18 and older. Registration fee is $250 until Feb. 15, and $300 after that.
