BETHEL (AP) -- The Kings of Denali Park opened and closed the Kuskokwim 300 Sled Dog Race.

While Jeff King won the K-300 Sunday to claim the $20,000 first prize, King's oldest daughter, Cali, finished Monday at 5:30 a.m. to claim the Red Lantern given to the last musher in.

Cali King, 18, ran the Kusko as a qualifying race for her first Iditarod in March.

For Jeff King, it was his 7th victory in the K-300, the most ever by any musher in the race. King finished in 38 hours eight minutes.

Having his daughter in the race made this victory ''particularly sweet'' King said.
