Take-A-Break to host women's brunch

The Peninsula Take-A-Break group invites all women to attend a brunch from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Solid Rock Conference Center. Robin Place Fabrics will present a fashion show of wearable quilts, and Bonnie Warner will share how her life went from "patchwork to peace." KPC director to speak at chamber

The Alliance to meet Tuesday

The Kenai chapter of The Alliance will meet at noon Tuesday at Paradisos in Kenai. Featured speakers will include the Kenai Process Industry Careers Committee and Sal Mattero, and the topic will be "Our Competitive Advantage is Our People." Totem Tracers offer genealogy class

Totem Tracers Genealogical Society and the Soldotna Family History Center will present "Researching Newspapers, Beyond Obituaries," the first monthly genealogy class of 2003, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenai Community Library.

Chamber to discuss inlet lease sales

Kenai Peninsula Borough Oil and Gas Liaison Bill Popp will discuss outer continental shelf lease sales in Cook Inlet at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. The cost of the luncheon is $10.50, and the public is welcome.

Senior board plans meeting

Aurora Heights Assembly of God Church will present an evening of fine dining and drama at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church at the corner of McGahan and Marie Streets in Nikiski. CES seeks volunteers

Central Emergency Services is seeking volunteer firefighters and emergency medical workers. Volunteers should live within the Kalifornsky Beach, Soldotna, Sterling or funny River areas, be at least 18 years old, possess a current driver's license and be accepted as a probationary firefighter before attending a four-month academy on nights and weekends.
