UNALASKA (AP) -- Four fishermen were hoisted from their sinking vessel Friday morning not far from Dutch Harbor, according to the Coast Guard.
The unidentified crew aboard the 49-foot 'Miss Maria' radioed for help about 8:40 a.m. when their boat started taking on water about 17 miles southwest of Dutch Harbor, the Coast Guard said.
The distress message was heard by a tug, and then relayed to the Coast Guard.
Two helicopters and a C-130 were dispatched. The crewmen were hoisted aboard one of the helicopters about 10 a.m. and ferried to Dutch Harbor.
The vessel went aground in Makushin Bay.
