Whitney, Brewer plan February wedding Krista Marie Whitney and Edwin Elmer Brewer III announce their plans to marry Feb. 24 at the Kenai Senior Center.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kimberly M. Hayes of North Pole, and Brian S. Whitney of Kenai. She is a 1998 graduate of Kenai Central High School and currently majoring in business at Kenai Peninsula College.

The future groom is the son of Darlene and Jim Seltenreich of Kenai. He is a 1995 graduate of Kenai Central High School. He is employed as a shop foreman with Weatherford Inc. in Prudhoe Bay.

Mankey, Hubler celebrate Christmas with marriage

Rebecca Ann Mankey and William James Hubler were married Dec. 30 at the Kenai Merit Inn. Freddie Hue Pollard Sr. officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Susan and Paul Fleury of Washington. The bride was dressed in an ivory gown with off-the-shoulder rose straps and a sweetheart neckline. It was beaded with pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of miniature, pink roses with ivory, green and burgundy ribbons.

The maid of honor was Ruby Foglia. She wore a burgundy, silk evening gown. She carried a bouquet of miniature, pink roses with ivory, green and burgundy ribbons.

The groom is the son of Zondra J. Hubler of Kenai, and William W. Hubler of Washington.

The best man was Freddie Pollard Jr.

The bride and groom's children, Anessia and Cristina, were included in the ceremony. They wore velvet burgundy dresses trimmed with ivory lace. They also wore rose hair rings made with green and burgundy ribbons. They were each presented with their own family medallion, representing family unity. The girls also had their own wedding cake and were included in the bride and groom's first dance.

The reception took place in the Kenai Merit Inn banquet room. There was a three-tier floating cake with two heart-shaped accent side cakes, made by the groom's mother.

Out-of-town family members included Felicia Maria Mankey, the bride's sister, and her son Anthony Hanic from Washington; William Ursel Scoles from Anchorage and Brenda Scoles from Las Vegas, both cousins of the groom attended.

Rebecca is a 1993 graduate of Washington State University and employed with Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.

William graduated from Kenai Central High School and Kenai Peninsula College. He works at Kenai Central High School and is a coach for the school swim team and the Piranhas swim team.

The couple honeymooned in Seward and lives in Kenai.
