Red Wings top Senators

DETROIT -- Detroit captain Steve Yzerman collected his 1,000th career assist on Mathieu Dandenault's game-winning goal 59 seconds into overtime as the Red Wings beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Sunday night.

Yzerman became the ninth player in NHL history to notch 1,000 assists.

Ottawa's Martin Havlat scored both Senators goals.

Pavel Datsyuk and Luc Robitaille scored in regulation for Detroit.

Blackhawks 3, Stars 2

CHICAGO -- Steve Sullivan scored the game-winner early in the third period and also had an assist as Chicago beat Dallas.

Sullivan whipped Michael Nylander's centering feed past Stars goalie Ed Belfour at 1:19 of the third, just moments after Belfour had stopped Nylander on a close-in chance.

Kyle Calder and Tony Amonte also scored for the Blackhawks, who extended their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1).
