ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Anchorage police are investigating the death of a woman found Monday in an east Anchorage trailer.
Police say the cause of death is not yet known, but it is being investigated as suspicious. The name and age of the woman have not been released.
Police and neighbors say the woman is the third person since 1998 to be found dead inside the home at the Totem mobile home park.
Anchorage police spokeswoman Anita Shell said a 44-year-old man with a history of heart problems was found not breathing in the home in December 1998. ''He had been drinking heavily'' and fell asleep, she said.
On Jan. 19, 2002, a 38-year-old woman spending the night there was found dead the next morning.
''They had been drinking that night too,'' Shell said. ''There didn't appear to be anything suspicious.''
Police were notified of the most recent death shortly after 11 a.m. Monday. A maintenance man had gone to do some work on the unit and found the victim inside along with a group of people who were ''quite intoxicated,'' said Homicide Detective Phil Brown.
Police do not yet know how the woman died or when. The people in the trailer told police they don't know who she was, Brown said.
The woman found Monday may have died a in a manner similar to the other two victims ''or it may be something else,'' Brown said. ''Hopefully the autopsy will tell us one way or another.''
