Late flurry lets Bruins tie Capitals

BOSTON -- Joe Thornton had a goal and two assists for Boston, setting up Glen Murray's slap shot with 4:26 left Monday as the Bruins rallied from a two-goal deficit to tie the Washington Capitals 3-3.

The goal deprived Olaf Kolzig of his 200th victory as Washington's winless streak reached four games (0-2-2) despite a pair of assists from Sergei Gonchar. Kolzig stopped 38 shots and held on as the Capitals killed a double minor on Jeff Halpern for high-sticking in the final minutes of regulation and the start of overtime.

Canadiens 3, Panthers 2

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Jan Bulis and Doug Gilmour scored 38 seconds apart in the third period to lead Montreal past Florida.

Bulis scored the go-ahead goal with 4:49 left. Oleg Petrov also scored for Montreal and Jose Theodore stopped 31 saves as the Canadiens broke a five-game road losing streak.

Wild 2, Mighty Ducks 1, OT

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Minnesota defenseman Nick Schultz scored the tying goal midway through the third period and Antti Laaksonen won it 2:53 into overtime as the Wild rallied to beat Anaheim.

Dwayne Roloson set a club record with his eighth straight appearance, making 30 saves. It was his sixth straight start since Manny Fernandez sustained a knee sprain on Jan. 6.

Blue Jackets 5, Blackhawks 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Sean Pronger, David Vyborny and Rick Nash scored first-period goals and Marc Denis had 37 saves as Columbus routed Chicago.

Ray Whitney and Grant Marshall each had a goal and an assist and Mike Sillinger had two assists. Jaroslav Spacek added two assists, extending his points streak to a Columbus record six straight games.

Blues 5, Hurricanes 3

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Scott Mellanby and Al MacInnis scored in the opening 9 1/2 minutes as St. Louis handed Carolina a franchise-record seventh straight home loss.

The win moved the Blues 13 games over .500 and past Stanley Cup champion Detroit for first place in the Central Division.

Lightning 6, Senators 2

TAMPA, Fla. -- Vaclav Prospal had a goal and three assists as Tampa Bay snapped Ottawa's five-game winning streak.

Martin St. Louis added a goal and two assists for Tampa Bay, which ended an 11-game winless streak against the Senators (0-10-1). Tampa Bay's previous win against Ottawa was March 30, 2000.

PHOENIX -- Zac Bierk made 26 saves for his first victory of the season and Daniel Briere scored twice to lead Phoenix over San Jose.

Stars 1, Avalanche 1

DENVER -- Jere Lehtinen scored in the second period and Marty Turco stopped 34 shots as Dallas extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games with a tie against Colorado.

Flames 4, Oilers 3

CALGARY, Alberta -- Craig Conroy had two goals and an assist, and Jarome Iginla added three assists as Calgary built a four-goal lead and hung on for a victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
