Medlin, Haring marry in Virgin Islands

Cheryl Anne Medlin and Benjamin David Haring of Wilmington, N.C. were married in an afternoon ceremony Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Pastor Robert Nelson of Jamaica Bonoiva Baptist Church officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia Collins of Emporia, Va. and Robert Medlin of Halifax, N.C. She is a graduate of Cape Fear Community College. Cheryl works as a occupational therapist. She wore a strapless beaded lace sheath with a chapel-length sweep train and carried a bouquet of calla lilies. The bride’s mother walked her to the beach gazebo.

The groom is the son of David and Ruth Haring of Kenai. He is a 2001 graduate of Kenai Central High School and received a bachelor of science degree in physics from Grove City College in 2006. Benjamin is employed by Logical Innovations in Richmond, Va. He wore a black suit with a calla lily boutonniere.

The mother of the bride and mother of the groom wore matching calla lily arm corsages.

Guests in attendance at the destination wedding included Patricia Collins of Emporia, Va., Micah and Darlene Houtz of Exeter, N.H.; John Nichols of Raleigh, N.C., Melinda Haring of Charlottesville, Va. ; and the groom’s parents.

The reception included wedding cake, apple champagne and flower petals to throw.

The newlyweds honeymooned at the resort in St. Thomas. They live in Richmond.
