On Dec. 7, David Caswell, center, office manager of Kenai Vet Center, on behalf of the Alaska VA Healthcare System, received a check for $6,000 from Dan Aaronson, right, Exalted Ruler, and Charles Smalley, trustee, of the Kenai Elks Lodge No. 2425.
The idea of a charity basketball game, which was presented to the Elks by Smalley, generated enormous interest and raised funds to help purchase a volunteer-operated passenger van for use at the Kenai Vet Center. The Vet Center in Soldotna assists more than 5,500 veterans on the
Kenai Peninsula.
