According to Hospice supporters, a special kind of caring deserves a special kind of evening, so that is the theme for this years Hospice Raffle, wine tasting, and auction, to be held Saturday, February 9th, from 7:00pm 10:00pm, at the Soldotna Senior Center.
According to Sue Bezilla, Hospice bereavement coordinator, the event will make a great pre-valentines day evening out, featuring six great wines to be served with six delicious gourmet appetizers.
Auction items will include everything from fly-in fishing trips, to massages and haircuts. "This is our major fundraising event of the year, and is how we raise the money to keep our local non-profit Hospice program alive, which allows us to be with those who are terminally ill," said Bezilla.
All proceeds, even the cost of the event, this year will go directly to Hospice, "We have a wonderful sponsor this year, Unocal has not only agreed to underwrite this event, but is paying for the expenses to send me to Colorado for special training on how to help children with their grieving process. So we are very grateful for Unocal's support this year. There are only 125 tickets available and they are going fast, so I suggest people call in as soon as possible for their tickets," added Bezilla.
Tickets are available for a donation of $37.50 at the Hospice office at 312 Tyee St, in Soldotna, or by calling 262-0453.
