Tommy Earl Ellison
Soldotna resident Tommy Earl Ellison died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. He was 37.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Soldotna High School Auditorium. His ashes will be spread at his cabin in the Caribou Hills at a later date. Larry Hunstperger will officiate the service.
Mr. Ellison was born March 22, 1970, in Seagraves, Texas, to Linda Smith and L.D. Ellison. He graduated from Soldotna High School in 1988 and married Kerstin Ellison on July 14, 1990, in Soldotna.
He worked for Chumley's/Raven Contractors for 12 years and then at Trading Bay for Forest Oil. In 2001 he went to work for BP Exploration at Northstar Island.
"Tommy Ellison lived his 37 years of life with exuberance, humor and passion. He pursued his life with 100 percent heart and soul. To know Tommy was to love Tommy and to be loved by him. His legacy to us all is to embrace life and live it to its fullest each and every day," his family said.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kerstin; son, Cody; daughters, Riley and Hannah; father, L.D. Ellison and his wife, Kathy; mother, Linda Smith and her husband, Leon; sister, Lisa Ellison; mother- and father-in-law, Rosanne and Larry Van Ray; brother-in-law, Chuck VanRay; and nephews, Hayden and Brenner VanRay.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Tommy Ellison Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
