Recovery meetings planned

Christ centered recovery meetings are held every Tuesday, 6:30 -8 p.m. at the Central Peninsula Hospital, downstairs in the Spur Conference Room. For more information call 740-8018. Come for coffee, snacks and fellowship

Local releases worship music

Nate Dunn, a 1997 graduate of Soldotna High, and his wife, Liz, who live in Salem, Ore., recorded their first CD of original worship music last spring and it was released in the fall. They will be presenting a concert at Soldotna Bible Chapel at 6 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.

Dennis Agajanian concert

Everyone is invited to a free concert with Dennis Agajanian at Kalifonsky Christian Center, mile 17 K-Beach Rd. on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. for the community's enjoyment. Anger management offered

The Soldotna Church of God on the corner of Binkley and Redoubt will provide a free 4-week Anger Management Class with Pastor Alan Humphries on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 through Feb. 16. Call 262-4729 for more information.

Women's conference slated

Point of Impact and AK Women Unlimited will hold "Warrior Bride: Alaska," a women's inspirational conference to be held at Kenai New Life Church on January 28-30.

The conference is for women of all ages and designed to help participants to discover their identity and spark their destiny.

Saturday Bible study on tap

The Nikiski Nazarene Church will hold a Bible study on Esther at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at the church at Mile 18 of the Kenai Spur Highway. It is open to all women.

ALPHA course slated

The Soldotna United Methodist Church at 158 S Binkley Street will host an ALPHA course beginning Feb. 1. The course is about talking around a table in a non-threatening atmosphere where people can ask faith questions without fear of being challenged. Questions are covered in 12 weekly sessions and a Saturday half-day retreat.

The initial event is called the invitation dinner and will be held Feb. 1 at 6 p.m., at the church. This is an opportunity for persons to come and hear about the course and decide if you want to participate.

A nursery will be available for those with childcare needs, but there must be a reservation. Reservations for the dinner are not required, but they are helpful. Call Karolann at 262-4958 to make a reservation. For more information on the course visit

Clothes Quarters open

Nikiski Aglow meeting set

AWANA Club continues

Calvary Baptist Church will run its AWANA Club ministry for kids from age 3 years old through to sixth grade from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. Sundays throughout the school year at the Kenai Recreation Center.

AWANA Club includes games, stories, songs and Bible memory. Kids have a chance to earn prizes by learning verses and winning games.

Thrift store open

The Lighthouse Community Church thrift store, The Sandbox, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The store is in the office building next to the church in Nikiski.

The Lighthouse Community Church will hold Recovery Now, a scripturally based recovery program, at 7 p.m. Fridays. The program is for anyone who is dealing with or has dealt with addiction of any kind.

Prayer group meets for breakfast

The United Methodist Church of the New Covenant in Kenai hosts a women's prayer and share group at 7 a.m. Mondays at Charlotte's Restaurant in Kenai. It is open to all women.
