SoHi hoops sweeps Seward

The Soldotna basketball teams swept Seward on Saturday in nonconference action at Soldotna.

In the girls game, the Stars notched an 80-10 victory. Christa Kennedy paced Soldotna with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. Also for the Stars, Karen Senette had 12 points and Karen Duffy had 10 points. Tarrah Beals paced Seward with six points.

In the boys game, Soldotna cruised to an 80-47 victory. Tony Besse paced the team with 17 points while Kelly Seggerman had 16 and Larson Kohler added 12. For Seward, Caleb Adelmann had 16 points, Trevor Olsen had 13 points and Robert Perea had 10 points.

Homer holds Middle School Borough Meet

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Middle School Ski Meet was held on Friday in Homer.

All of the races were 3-kilometer freestyle. Soldotna Middle School’s Bree Mucha won the seventh grade girls race in 11 minutes, 55.2 seconds, Soldotna’s Deanne Martin won the eighth grade girls race in 11:48.8, Kenai Middle School’s Travis Semmens won the seventh grade boys race in 10:28.3 and Soldotna’s Intimayo Harbison won the eighth grade boys race in 11:04.2.
