Dinner theater planned

The Aurora Heights Assembly of God Church will present an evening of dining and drama at 7 p.m. Saturday in Nikiski. Diners will have a choice of Cornish game hens or halibut. A $15 donation is requested. For more information, call 776-8723.

Christian country musician to perform

Christian country musician Dennis Agajanian will perform at the Soldotna Church of God at 6 p.m. Sunday. Nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Musician of the Year by the Christian Country Music Association, Agajanian performs at all Billy and Franklin Graham crusades and Harvest crusades with Greg Laurie.

Easter musical practice begins

Practice begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for the community Easter musical at Soldotna Church of God, on the corner of Binkley Street and Redoubt Avenue.

Bible study group meets

An in-depth Bible study titled "Beloved Disciple" is being conducted by Beth Moore from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursdays through March 20 at the First Baptist Church of Kenai. Books by the same title also are available for purchase in the church office. Child care is provided during study sessions. For more information, call 283-7772.

Healing Rooms open weekends

The Healing Rooms, a Bible-based Christian ministry in Kenai, is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Healing Rooms is located across from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on Kenai Spur Highway next to Little Ski-Mo. For more information, call Ben Eby at 283-4404.

Friendship closet open Wednesdays

The Aurora Heights Assembly of God "Friendship Closet" is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clothing closet is located at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie Avenue, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.

Religious poems sought

A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in a special religious poetry contest sponsored by the New Jersey Rainbow Poets, free to anyone who has ever written a poem. Writers sought for faith anthology

Writers from Alaska are invited to share their own experiences of the power of prayer and faith in an anthology to be published in the latter half of 2003.

The anthology, "A Matter Of Faith," is being compiled by Arrowhead Publishing to provide examples of the positive power of prayer. Writers are invited to submit essays of up to 750 words that share their own experiences of how their faith has helped them meet major challenges in the journey through life.
