SoHi after-grad meeting set

The Soldotna High School after-graduation committee will meet at 6 p.m. today in the teachers’ lounge. The after-graduation party will take place at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai from 11 p.m. May 26 to 4 a.m. May 27. The committee needs assistance with chaperoning, planning and coordinating activities, decorations and food. Attendance at planning meetings is not necessary to help with the event. Used book sale scheduled

Soldotna Public Library volunteers will host a used book sale from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Prices vary. Videos also will be available.

Historical society to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society will hold its general membership meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road. Longtime Soldotna resident Al Hershberger will be the guest speaker. His topic will be the early days of Soldotna and the presentation will include a slide show. Refreshments will be provided. It is open to the public.

Wrestling club seeks members

The Nikiski Freestyle Wrestling Club will hold it annual registration from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 31 and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at Nikiski North Star Elementary School. Participants are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate to be left on file with the club and a $45 registration fee. The fee covers accident insurance. Youth ages 5 and up are eligible to join.
