Peterson wins classic race

For the second straight week, Skyview skiing coach Kent Peterson won at the Tsalteshi Race Series on Tuesday evening at Tsalteshi Trails, which are located behind Skyview High School.

This week was a 5-kilometer classic race, and Peterson cruised to victory with a time of 16 minutes, 33 seconds. Dave Michael finished second in 19:04, while Isaac Dale was third in 19:48.

There were no women entered in the race.

There will be a race at Tsalteshi Trails every Tuesday until March 4. The race on Tuesday will be a skating race. The series targets intermediate or advanced skiers who want to prepare for races like the Tour of Anchorage or who want to get in good shape for skiing.
