Deadline ends today for registration
Today is the last day to register for the Winter 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament presented by The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula and the Peninsula Winter Games. The tournament will be held Feb. 10 at the Kenai Recreational Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $10 per entrant. All participants will receive a tournament T-shirt. Those interested can register at the Kenai Boys and Girls Club office.

Award banquet held tonight
The 42nd annual Awards Banquet for the Greater Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Soldotna Elks Lodge tonight. A no-host bar opens at 6:30, and dinner will be served at 7.

Dinner held to benefit cause
People Count Inc. will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction today at 6 p.m. at the Nikiski Senior Center. Proceeds from the dinner go to benefit the Alaska Cares for Nicaragua Fund.
The event is open to the public.
Closing reception held Saturday
A closing reception for the Guys Love Tools exhibition will be held at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
The reception is free and open to the public. Dessert and coffee will be provided.
Boot camp registration slated
The Alaska Young Marines will hold a registration Saturday for its next boot camp that will start Feb. 3.
Registration fee is $200. A doctor will be available at the registration to provide free physical exams to new recruits.

Tournament kicks off weekly events
The Cook Inlet Lions will sponsor its eighth annual Kenai Peninsula Cribbage Tournament at the Nikiski Senior Center Feb. 4 at 3 p.m.
The games will continue each Sunday through May. The events are open to the public.
