Penguins dismiss Thrashers in overtime

NEW YORK -- Radek Dvorak had two goals, and Eric Lindros and Theo Fleury both scored their 20th of the season to lead the New York Rangers past the Washington Capitals 6-3 Saturday.

Sandy McCarthy and Bryan Berard also scored for the Rangers, who have won three straight after a nine-game winless streak.

Penguins 3, Thrashers 2, OT

PITTSBURGH -- Randy Robitaille set up Pittsburgh's second goal, then scored the game-winner with 58 seconds left in overtime as the Penguins ran their winning streak to six by beating Atlanta.

The Thrashers got a tying goal from Tony Hrkac late in the third period, but still remained winless -- 0-11 -- against Pittsburgh since joining the NHL.

Senators 1, Canadiens 1

MONTREAL -- Daniel Alfredsson scored with 2:59 left to lift Ottawa to a tie with Montreal.

Richard Zednik gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead with his 14th goal early in the third period.

LOS ANGELES -- Milan Hejduk and Chris Drury each scored twice as Colorado beat Los Angeles to extend its winning streak to six games.

Wild 2, Devils 2

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Martin Brodeur made 34 saves, including two in overtime, as New Jersey skated to a 2-2 tie with Minnesota in a physical game.

Bruins 4, Panthers 2

BOSTON -- Joe Thornton scored his 99th and 100th career goals in the third period to give the Bruins a victory over Florida, spoiling Mike Keenan's return to Boston.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Mariusz Czerkawski and Claude Lapointe each had a pair of goals as New York snapped a four-game home losing streak with a victory over Tampa Bay,

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Daniel Briere had a goal and an assist and Andrei Nazarov scored a goal in his first game in a Phoenix uniform as the Coyotes beat Columbus.

Flyers 4, Hurricanes 2

PHILADELPHIA -- Jeremy Roenick and Justin Williams scored 38 seconds apart in the first period as Philadelphia defeated Carolina to snap a three-game winless streak.

Red Wings 5, Blues 2

ST. LOUIS -- Brett Hull scored three goals and added two assists, leading Detroit to a victory over St. Louis.

Pavel Datsyuk and Boyd Devereaux each scored a goal and had two assists for the Red Wings, who are 4-0-1 in their last five games.

Mighty Ducks 3, Predators 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Matt Cullen scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period as Anaheim beat Nashville for its third straight victory.

Oilers 4, Maple Leafs 1

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Mike Comrie scored twice, including the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, as Edmonton ended a three-game losing streak with a win over Toronto.

Canucks 2, Flames 0

CALGARY, Alberta -- Peter Skudra made 29 saves as Vancouver beat Calgary, extending the Canucks' winning streak to five games.
