Juneau man arrested after standoff

JUNEAU (AP) -- Police arrested a man Monday who threatened to kill himself and three officers.

Police at about 2 a.m. responded to a Mendenhall Valley home after a neighbor reported a man had been threatening to kill himself.

Police said when they arrived, they found a 52-year-old man armed with a rifle who threatened to shoot the officers.

The man barricaded himself in a shed on the property, police said.

Police did not release details of how they apprehended the man.

The man was charged with felony assault and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
