Area chambers set schedules

The Nikiski Chamber of Commerce has moved the venue of its weekly luncheon to Ohana's Family Restaurant.

Lt. Kurt Phillips, with the U.S. Coast Guard Kenai office will speak today at noon. Next week's speaker will be David Dilbreath, CEO of Central Peninsula General Hospital. His topic will be construction at the hospital.

Alaska Junior Miss contestants will give a presentation at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon Tuesday at the Riverside.

Bill Popp, oil and gas liaison for the Kenai Peninsula Borough is the featured speaker at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. He will give a presentation on the borough's 2004 Oil and Gas Report. There also will be a presentation about the chambers Job Shadow program.

Government contracting workshops planned

The Procurement Technical Assistance Center — Alaska will hold two workshops at the Kenai Small Business Development Center at Red Diamond Center, Suite 16, on Feb. 8. The first one, Federal Certification Programs Overview, will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Ten Steps to Successful Government Contracting will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
