Hazard trees presentation slated

The Central Peninsula Master Gardeners will begin its winter lecture series from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Dr. Robert Wheeler, a forestry specialist for the Cooperative Extension Service in Fairbanks, will be the featured speaker. His topic will be tree growth, development, damage, response and how to assess the condition of trees and if there is anything that can be done about it.

KPBA schedule meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Riverside House in Soldotna. Executive director of the Heritage Land Bank, Robin Ward, will be the featured speaker.

Healing Touch classes available

Level I and II Healing Touch classes will be held Friday through Jan. 31 at Central Peninsula General Hospital. The classes are 20 continuing education hours for nurses and massage therapists. The cost is $275. For more information, call Susan Shoemaker at 714-4776.

Rodeo association to meet

The Alaska High School Rodeo Association will hold a general membership meeting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Borough Building in Soldotna. For more information,call 262-5568.

Indoor soccer leagues forming

The Boys and Girls Club is taking registrations for its indoor soccer league for children ages 4 through the fifth grade. The deadline is Feb. 4. Applications are available at and at the club from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The season will run from March 28 through May 14. The cost is $50. For more information,call 283-2682.
