Board of directors selected

The Central Peninsula Health Centers Inc. Board of Directors elected its 2002 officers at its Jan. 2 meeting. The new officers are Deric Marcorelle, president; Barry Creighton, vice president; Peggy Moore, secretary; and Corbl Aaronson, treasurer.

National pageant accepting application

Applications are available for the Alaska National Preteen and Petite pageants to be held June 22 at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium in Anchorage. Contestants will compete for cash awards, prizes and a sponsorship to the National Achievement program in Florida in November. The preteen pageant is for girls ages 9 to 12, and the petite pageant is for girls ages 5 to 8.

Contestants will be judged on academics and achievements (preteen pageant only), personality, interviews, poise/appearance, talent (optional), and sportswear, photo, costume and essay/speech competitions.

Family Fun Day scheduled

There will be a Family Fun Day with activities for the whole family from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 10 outside at Skyview High School. There will be cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, sledding, ice skating and a bonfire and the Skyview pool will be open for indoor fun. For more information, call 262-6768.

The USS Maddox Destroyer Association is looking for past crew members of the ship to hold a reunion Aug. 22 through 26 in Savannah, Ga. Homer Community Schools announcements

Leather Mask Making for Youth and Adults, Telemark Ski Clinic, Basic Life Support and Nutritious Meals Made Easy classes still have space available. The Effective Foot Reflexology class has been moved to March 6 through April 24. Anyone in need of a tutor or wanting to be a tutor can call Homer Community Schools. Boys and Girls Club classes to be held

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula will hold registration for a music movement class for 3- to 5-year-olds Friday through Feb. 4. Class begins Feb. 6. Registration for indoor soccer for 4-year-olds through fifth-graders will be Friday through Feb. 8. The season runs from March 25 through May 11. For more information, call Kim Lee at 283-2682.
