SMS is in need of a refrigerator for the student snack bar and for the parent-teacher-student association. If anyone has one they are willing to donate, call Marti Shirley at 262-4344.

The Benchmark tests for eighth-grade students and the Terra Nova tests for seventh-grade students will be given Feb. 17 to 19. Parents are reminded to make sure students get lots of sleep and a good breakfast on these days and arrive at school on time.

The PTSA will meet at 5 p.m. Feb. 19. The video "Developing Healthy Self-Esteem," by H. Stephen Glen, will be shown immediately following the meeting.

The PTSA will sponsor the next fortnight Feb. 6. It will be a Valentine's Day theme with lots of activities, including sumo wrestling, "crazy hair" photos for $1, Fear Factor, an hour of karaoke and an hour of music. Pizza also will be available for sale.

The school is seeking donations of items for its gold card assembly at the end of the year. If you have a prize to donate or know of a business that may help support the effort, call Carmen at 262-2791.

Parent-teacher conferences will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 13 and from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 16. Parents are encouraged to attend.
