Stacia Darlene Rustad of Helendale, Calif. and John Anthony Marquez of Barstow, Calif. ,were married Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at the Victorville Assembly of God Church in California. The Rev. Patrick Danadio officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Elaine Rustad of Kenai. Stacia is a 1992 graduate of Kenai Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Maine in 1996 and a master’s degree in teaching from Chapman University in 2006. Stacia is employed by Hook Junior High School in Victorville, Calif. She carried a white cascade bouquet of roses and lilies.

Carolyn D. Norman was the maid of honor. Beth Rustad was the bridesmaid and Cierra Rustad was the flower girl.

The groom is the son of Maria and Tony Marquez. He is a 1991 graduate of Barstow High School. He received bachelor of science degree in physical education of Ottawa University in Kansas and a master’s degree in physical education from Azuza University in California in 2005. John is employed by Hesperia High School in Victorville.

Chad Brooks served as the best man; Shawn Rustad was the groomsman; Joseph Brenckle and Isaul Verdin, 1992 KCHS graduates, were the ushers; and Cyler Rustad was the ring bearer.

Kelly Gifford of Kenai served as guest book attendant and Ron and Jan Kirstine of Kenai video taped the service.

Guests from Alaska, Iowa, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, Missouri and Washington, D.C. attended the ceremony.

Special selections of “Butterfly Kisses” and “Keeper of the Stars” were sung by Kelly Jensen, the bride’s cousin.

The reception was held at Silver Lakes Country Club in California.

The newlyweds plan to move to Washington after the 2006-07 school year is completed.
