The Nikiski Pool Exercise Room has three new pieces of exercise equipment including a new treadmill, elliptical and spin bicycle each equipped with Cardio Theaters. The Kenai River Brown Bears hockey team will don special edition pink jerseys as they do battle with in-state rival, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4 and 5. The pink game-worn jerseys will be auctioned during intermissions, with the proceeds going to benefit the Central Peninsula Health Foundation and local cancer patients on the Kenai Peninsula. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.
This eigth annual event will be held Feb. 6 in Homer at the Lookout Mountain Trails on Ohlson Mountain Road. Registration begins at noon, and the event start at 1 pm. The Kenai River Council on the Arts is accepting entries from metal and wood artists to exhibit in the February sculpture exhibit, "Heart and Soul," at the Kenai Fine Arts Center.
