Sunday column about racism, intolerance draws response

Reporter McKibben Jackinsky's article on the failures of prejudicial intolerance ("Ugly incident underscores beautiful truth, Sunday, page 4), is one of the most thoughtful I have ever read. Prejudicial intolerance is the one most wasteful use of human energy ever exerted.

Dipnet fee good idea if residency requirements enforced

What a great idea that sponsor Rep. Lancaster, is proposing for the $10 user fee to participate in the dipnet fishery on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers. I pay $10 for a king salmon sticker, just for the opportunity to catch one king salmon. I would gladly pay $10 to dipnet my family's 45 salmon, so that I could be reassured that the other dipnetters standing alongside me are Alaska residents also.
