FAIRBANKS (AP) -- Fairbanks police are investigating the death of a man found Monday evening as a homicide.
The body of 30-year-old Fela Avery was found at about 5:30 p.m. Monday by someone walking a dog in a wooded area east of the Fairbanks Athletic Club off the Old Richardson Highway.
Fairbanks police say detectives found obvious signs of foul play in Avery's death and they are investigating the incident as a homicide.
However, police have no suspects, Detective Randy Coffey said.
Avery's body has been taken to the state medical examiner's office in Anchorage, and police expect to know more about the death once an autopsy is completed, Coffey said.
Coffey would not comment on what signs of foul play police discovered.
