Area chambers set schedule

Chambers of commerce speakers for the upcoming week include:

Karen Kester of the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area will be the featured speaker at the North Peninsula Chamber of Commerce meeting at noon today at North Kenai Baptist Church. For more information, call Fred Miller at 776-8555.

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House for an Alaska Junior Miss presentation, facilitated by Mary Breen and sponsored by First National Bank of Alaska. For more information, call Shanon Hamrick at 262-9814.

A variety of area business representatives will speak on the subject of Alaska's future work force at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce meeting at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. Lunch is $10.50. For more information, call 283-7989.

Job Shadow hosts wanted

Job Shadow assists area students in choosing a career path by allowing them to visit a business for the day. Job Shadow is sponsored by the Kenai Chamber of Commerce, Kenai Central High School and Peninsula Job Center. Soldotna chamber to hold annual awards reception

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce is holding its 45th annual awards reception to recognize outstanding businesses and individuals. Buffet style hors d'oeuvres by Isabelle's Fine Catering and no-host bar begin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 6. at the Soldotna Sports Center. Tickets are $25.

Peninsula Winter Games bags for sale

Peninsula Winter Games bags are available for $10 at Pizza Boys in Kenai and Sweeney's in Soldotna, while supplies last. The bags include a Peninsula Winter Games button that allows access to all open events, a PWG T-shirt, collector pin and snowball, free lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast Sunday and assorted freebies for children ages 5 to 18.
