Man charged in stabbing

JUNEAU (AP) -- A man was arrested and charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with a stabbing Friday, city police said.
George K. Shavers, 48, was charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon for the alleged attack near Harris Harbor. A woman found the victim Saturday afternoon where he collapsed on the dock with multiple stab wounds and a fractured skull.
The victim, whose name was not released, had been stabbed more than six times. He was released Monday from a hospital where he was in fair condition.
Shavers was being held at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
