CIA, Ninilchik, Seward get top billing in poll

The Cook Inlet Academy boys, Ninilchik girls and Seward girls all were ranked No. 1 in this week's Alaska Media High School Basketball poll, released Wednesday.

For the first time, media voted on Class 2A. Ninilchik and CIA, which both took state titles last year, remained on top in the first poll.

Seward remained on top of Class 3A, while the Soldotna girls remained in second in the Class 4A poll.

Here is this week's Alaska Media High School Basketball poll compiled by the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner with first-place votes in parenthesis, records through games of Jan. 25 and total points. Points are awarded on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis.
