KPHA Squirt Bs sweep weekend series

The Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association Squirt B team swept the Anchorage Wolves in a three-game series last weekend at the Soldotna Sports Center.

The Ice Hawks defeated the Wolves by scores of 5-2, 4-0 and 5-0, outshooting Anchorage 86-18 for the series.

In the first game, goalie William Granger made five saves while Josh Kerkvliet scored twice and notched an assist, Sean Endsley scored twice, Dagen Walton had a goal and an assist and Zack Sonnichsen had an assist.

In the second game, Michael Gabriel had a goal and an assist, Hali Carter, Kerkvliet and Endsley scored goals while Brandon Fisher, Sonnichsen, Zack Zulkanycz, Jacob Iverson and Matt Boulette had assists.

Granger recorded his second shutout of the series in the third game, boosted by two goals from Kerkvliet, a goal and an assist from Tyler Cue, goals by Endsley and Sonnichsen and assists from Carter and Morgan Cunningham.

The Ice Hawks are coached by Mike Boulette and assistant coaches Indy Walton, Tim Iverson and Chris Sonnichsen.
