The Tsalteshi Trails board would like to thank all of the volunteers and Skyview High School, who made our recent Besh Cup races of Jan. 22 and 23 a resounding success. More than 275 racers came together Saturday and Sunday for two different race events.
The Tsalteshi Trails Committee saw this event as an opportunity to begin training race volunteers for the upcoming Arctic Winter Games. Each of the area high schools provided volunteers to put this race on. We got many compliments for the two days of racing that we hosted. We thank all of the local volunteers who made this possible.
We would like to thank, in particular, Skyview High School for allowing us to use their facility. John Pothast, Bob Ermold and the custodial crew and the library personnel went out of their way to see that whatever we needed was provided. Without the support of the school, this event would have been impossible.
The Tsalteshi Trails board would like to extend a welcome to any volunteer who would like to assist us in upcoming races. We look forward to continued cooperation with Skyview and the other high schools as we prepare for three separate events in March of 2006.
Thanks again to all of the volunteers who gave so generously of their time this last weekend. You made it possible to work toward bringing world class events to Tsalteshi Trails and the greater Soldotna area. Check out the Web site at www.tsalteshi.org for pictures of the event, too.
