Bunnie Giaccarini

Former Sterling resident Bunnie Giaccarini died peacefully with her sister by her side on Wednesday, Jan.20, 2010, in Stockton, Calif., of heart failure. She was 71.

No services will be held per Ms. Giaccarini's request.

Ms. Giaccarini was born Oct. 29, 1938 in Long Beach, Calif. to Howard and Melba Freese.

She moved to Alaska in 1988 and spent 12 wonderful years here.

Ms. Giaccarini was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Jack" Giaccarini; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters Diane Vigneaux, and her husband, Terry, of Nixa, Mo., Robbyn Michel and her husband, Dan, of Sterling, Jan Wammack and her husband, Robert, of Galt, Calif., Stacy Steger and her husband, Scott, of Sterling, and Julie Coster and her husband, Ron, of Galt, Calif.; son Don Giaccarini and his wife, Jody, of Grants Pass, Ore.; grandchildren Jason and his wife, Shawna, Shayla, Josh and his wife, Tiffany, Sommer and her husband, Mike, Ryan, Tera, Trevor, Marlee, Ashley, Charley and her husband, Matt, and Haley; and great-grandchildren Tiffany, Hailey and Jacob.

Arrangements were made by Ben Salas Funeral Home in Galt.
