The deadline for the 2011/2012 UA scholarships is Feb. 15, 2011. Hundreds of awards are available, totaling over $697,000 so far this academic year. Last year, many scholarships were not awarded due to a lack of eligible applicants, so all students are strongly encouraged to apply! Applicants must have their 2011/2012 FAFSA filed by Feb. 15, listing UAA, UAF or UAS as their primary campus. Students not interested in applying for the UA scholarships can still file their FAFSA up until June 30, 2012. The online application is available at www.fafsa.gov.
The UA scholarship application is available to students at uaonline.alaska.edu, and supplemental information for some scholarships can be submitted via the www.uaa.alaska.edu/scholarships website. Other UAA scholarships are available on the KPC website at http://www.kpc.alaska.edu/KPC/scholarships/.
For those who were not able to attend College Goal Sunday, the KPC Financial Aid Office will be offering help for the 2011/2012 FAFSA on campus throughout February FAFSA Frenzy month. Appointments can be made by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
