Good morning.

Words to ponder this week: "One may give without loving; but none can love without giving." — Author unknown

Bob Harrison's cribbage report for Jan. 22 tells me Don Estes took first; Glenn Clifford placed second; and Barbara Romine was third. These folks meet at the Merit Inn on Saturday afternoons, so if you like cribbage, it's the place to be.

Nikiski Freestyle Wrestling Club registration will begin from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Nikiski North Star Elementary School.

This class is certified by the state and open to all ages. Parents and teens are encouraged to take the class together. Margie Warner and Linda Ralston told me the high school site council is seeking nominations for three seats for parent representatives and one seat for a community member for the 2005-06 school year.

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, call Margie or Linda at 776-3456. Nominations will be accepted until March 1. Nominations also will be accepted during parent-teacher conferences Feb. 10 and 11 at the school. Elections will be in April.

The Nikiski Talent Show will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at the high school auditorium. Anyone interested in applying should call Joe Rizzo or Joshua Ball at 776-3456.
