Retirement set for Harris

The LeeShore Center staff and board members will host a retirement party for June Harris from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the center at 325 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.

Harris has been with the agency for more than 20 years. It is open to the public.

Women's ski races Sunday

A cross-country skiing fund-raiser, She Can Ski, will be held Sunday at 12:30 p.m. for classic races and 1:30 p.m. for skate races on the trails behind Skyview High School in Soldotna.

Registration is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Kaladi Brothers in Soldotna or at 9 a.m. the day of the race.

The Skyview High School ski team will be available to wax skis from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday for a small donation.

The race is designed for women of all ages and abilities to ski as individuals or teams and promote health, fun and camaraderie.

Proceeds will benefit the LeeShore Center and the Tsalteshi Trails Association. For more information, call Leslie Boyd at 283-9113 or Robin Nyce at 283-9202.

NPRSA sets gym schedule

Open gym times are available for the following groups: adults from 8 to 10 p.m. Mondays, toddler time from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, home school from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and family open gym from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

All programs will be held at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center.

Fish and Game to meet

The Cooper Landing Fish and Game Advisory Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at Ambulance Hall to review actions resulting from the Upper Cook Inlet Board of Fish meeting. For more information, call Bill Stockwell at 595-1540.

Caregiver support meeting planned

There will be a caregiver support meeting from 12:45 to 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Seward Senior Citizens Center. For more information, call 262-1280.
