Eagles spread warmth on cold day

Letter to the Editor

We would like to thank the Fraternal Order of Eagles on Cohoe Loop Road. As volunteers of the Tustumena 200 Sled Dog Race working the crossing at North Cohoe and Sterling Highway. They might be a small lodge but you couldn't tell by the size of their heart. They stayed open 24 hours a day giving the volunteers of the race food, hot coffee and snacks. They even went so far as to deliver these things to us at the crossing where we worked.

It was a wonderful surprise to us who were out in the cold so to speak. These folks took it upon themselves to do this as a service with no charge to us volunteers.
