FAIRBANKS (AP) -- Two additional Fairbanks men have been arrested in a case involving the multiple sexual assault of two runaway girls.
Shannon ''Bo'' Boykins, 29, and George Smith, 21, were arrested Thursday on several charges of sexual abuse of a minor, bringing to six the number of men jailed in the case.
Bail for Boykins and Smith was set at $100,000.
Arrested earlier in the case were Kenny K. Applewhite, 19; Tariq V. Eskridge, 18; Corey M. Faulkner, 24; and Antwan L. Sanders, 25.
The six men face a combined total of 20 counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
All six men have been indicted by a grand jury and are being held at Fairbanks Correctional Center. Boykins and Smith will be arraigned in Superior Court on Monday.
According to criminal complaints in the case, five of the six men had sex with a 13-year-old girl and five of the six had oral sex with a 12-year-old.
The incidents allegedly took place over a two-day period while the two girls were at Faulkner's residence.
''It's a very complicated case,'' Alaska State Trooper Investigator Eric Olsen told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
The girls had told the men their ages were 19 and 17, and initially told troopers they were kidnapped. But Olsen said that wasn't the case after interviewing the girls on Jan. 14. Troopers contacted the girls when they received a report of two runaways who had been found.
Faulkner was arrested on Jan. 17 and indicted on seven felony counts, while Sanders and Applewhite were arrested on Jan. 23. Eskridge was arrested the next day and also was charged with resisting arrest.
Indictments were handed down for Sanders, Applewhite, Eskridge, Boykins and Smith on Thursday.
