Comeback of Kenai boys comes up short vs. Chugiak

Posted: Sunday, February 02, 2003

A late fourth-quarter run was not enough to save the Kenai Central boys basketball team Saturday at home against Chugiak, as they lost to the Mustangs 64-51 in nonconference action.

Senior Steve Steiner led the Kardinal scoring surge, logging 10 of his 15 points in the final period. But Kenai's 21-point fourth-quarter shooting blitz could not overcome the 18-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter.

Caleb Schooley added 11 points for the Kardinals and Ian Foley scored nine points on the game.
