Mass choir festival planned

Kenai Central High School will host the the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Mass Choir Festival at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium. Each school will perform its own selections, followed by the mass choir under the direction of Dr. Scott Anderson from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo.

This year there will be a fee for the concert to help schools cover travel expenses. Fees are $3 per adult, $2 per student and senior citizens or $10 for an immediate family pass. The public is encouraged to attend. For more information, call 283-7524.

Indoor soccer registration to begin

The Boys and Girls Club is taking applications for its upcoming Indoor Soccer League for children ages 4 years through fifth grade. The season will run March 29 through May 15. Registration forms are available online at www.positiveplaceforkids.com. Registration deadline is Friday. Forms can be faxed to 283-8190. Interested community members also can register in person from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the club. For more information, call 283-2682.

La Leche League to meet

The La Leche League will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Olga Krejci residence at 141 Trumpeter Ave. in Soldotna. The topic of discussion will be "overcoming difficulties." All mothers and babies are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 262-9291.

Fish and game advisory to meet

The Central Peninsula Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Ninilchik School Library. The topic of discussion will be the board of game proposals and to consider a proposal to submit for Cook Inlet. For more information, call David Martin at (907) 567-3306.

Social Security reps to visit area

Social Security Administration representatives will be on the Kenai Peninsula from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at Seward City Hall; from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at Kenai City Hall; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Homer Senior Citizens Center.

Aviation safety meeting slated

The FAA Safety Program in conjunction with Alaskan Aviation Safety Foundation will hold an aviation safety meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Featured speaker Roger Motzko will discuss runway safety and Charlie Hamilton will discuss pilots in distress and recent accidents. The meeting is open to all CFIs, pilots and students. There is no fee.

Flu vaccinations available in Homer
