Jeremiah Taylor and Sarah Herrin each scored big to lead the Nikiski Bulldogs boys and girls basketball teams to District III/3A wins Saturday over the Houston Hawks in Houston.
In the boys game, Taylor canned five three-pointers en route to a game-high 27 points as Nikiski edged Houston 56-54. Kevin Epperheimer added 13 for the Bulldogs.
In the girls game, Herrin scored nearly half of the Nikiski's 46 points, pumping in a game-high 22 to lead Nikiski past the Hawks by a score of 46-36.
