Panthers no match for the Moose

Posted: Monday, February 02, 2004

The Skyview Panthers dropped a pair of games Saturday against the Palmer Moose in Palmer.

On the boys side of things, Caleb Shields led Skyview with 10 points, but it wasn't nearly enough to hold off Palmer, as the Moose cruised to a 56-34 Region III/4A win. Skyview led Palmer 10-9 after the first quarter, but a 18-5 Moose run in the second put things out of reach for the Panthers.

For the Skyview girls, Shelley Heffner and Sarah Garrant each had a team-high 10 points to help the Panthers nearly pull out a come-from-behind victory. Trailing by 10 points at the half, the Panthers outscored Palmer in the second half to nearly steal the win, but came up just short, losing 44-38. Emily Bolling led Palmer with 17 points.
